Panchakarma Therapy

In 2005, Dr.Tapasya Sharma graduated with honors in the Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Rajeev Gandhi University, Banglore, India. He also earned a Certificate in Panchkarma in 2009 from the all Saane Guruji Rugnalaya, Maharashtra. Dr. Sharma has operated a Complete Ayurvedic Center,Vrindavan(Mathura)U.P. for the past ten years, together with her husband Dr. Abhishek Sharma has also served as the Kshar Sutra Surgeon.

About Panchakarma

Panchakarma is the cornerstone to Ayurvedic management of disease. Pancha Karma is the process, which gets to the root cause of the problem and re-establishes the essential balance of ‘Tridosha’ ( three doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha) in body. Pancha Karma is not only good for alleviating disease but is also a useful tool in maintaining excellent health. Ayurveda advises undergoing Pancha Karma at the seasonal changes in order to clean the body and improve the digest ion and metabolic processes. (Classical Ayurvedic Body Massage)

Abhyangam is a traditional method of cleansing the body. This massage uses special techniques that help the body soak in the healing therapeutic oils which tone and detoxify the internal body systems, leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.


This deeply relaxing treatment involves running a fine stream of warm medicated oil on the forehead, to pacify and revitalize the mind and body. Shirodhara is initiated with a synchronized body massage.

Netra Tarpana

Medicated ghee is retained for prescribed time over the eyes. Strengthens optic nerve, Prevents eye diseases and gives a cooling effect to the eye and also helps in improving eyesight .Very good to relieve eyestrain for those who work with computers.

Medicated Steam Bath

Herbal leaves and certain medicinal powders are boiled and that steam is passed on to the body, inducing sweat, which opens the blocked pores of the skin, thus eliminating impurities from the body through sweat glands. It improves the tone of the body and skin. Reduces body stiffness, aches, pains and swelling. Reduces fat from under the skin and make skin soft. A totally relaxing and refreshing experience.


Basti is the most important procedure among pancha karma. It is the treatment for vata predominant diseases and an excellent treatment to mitigate all the doshas. In this, medicated oil or decoction are injected in to the colon through the anus using an instrument called vasti netra (enema nozzle). The process of vasti help in diseases like colitis, acidity, constipation etc.

Vamana Therapy

The kapha toxins accumulated in the body and the respiratory tract are effectively removed by Vamana, one of the five therapies of Pancha karma in Ayurveda. Vamana is therapeutic vomiting, which is a medicated emesis therapy. People with high imbalance of kapha are given this type of treatment, which loosens and mobilizes the toxins, in an effort to eliminate them from the body. Waste products (vitiated dosha) are eliminated through the upper gastrointestinal tract. The vitiated kapha are eliminated through the mouth. After vomiting, the sinus is cleared, which in turn provides relief from congestion, wheezing and breathlessness.


Virechana therapy is defined as the medicated purgation therapy, which cleanses the Pitta and purifies blood, by clearing the toxins from the body. The treatment concentrates on the toxins that are accumulated in the liver and gall bladder. The gastro-intestinal tract is also cleansed by Virechana therapy. This treatment is usually administered for three days after Vamana treatment, but its duration may vary from case to case. In fact, Virechana can be administered directly after purvakarma, without undergoing the Vamana therapy that precedes Virechana.

Nasya Karma

It is one of the panchakarmas mentioned in Ayurveda. It is a process by which drug is administered through the nostrils. If ‘Nasyakarma’ is done properly and regularly it will keep the person’s eye, nose and ear unimpaired. It also prevents the early graying of hair and beard. Nasya karma will prevent the falling of hair. It will ensure growth of hair and alleviate diseases like cervical spondilitis, headache, facial paralysis, hemiplegia, diseases of nose, frozen shoulder, hemi crania, coryza, sinusitis, mental disorders parkinsonism and skin complaints. Nasyakarma will enhance the activity of sense organs and prevent the diseases of head (urdhwanga). It will prevent the early aging process.

Karna purana

Karna purana is the process in which warm oil or medicated liquid are poured in to the ears. Ears and eyes are strictly connected with the foot sole. The application of oil in the ears produces a cooling effect which eliminates the sensation of burning to the feet. Specific problems for which karna purana is administered include excess earwax, earache, headache, neck pain, and jaw pain. This treatment is also used for most Vata disorders relating to body aches and pains.


Head massage is based on the ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years. It provides Indian relaxation and healing on a daily basis. Head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders.

Nabhi Basti: Balancing the Navel Region

This therapy (also known as Chakra Basti) helps to balance the nabhi marma, which is the vital center where all 72,000 nadis (subtle energy pathways) converge. It strengthens the power of digestion and absorption, and facilitates the release of deeply seated emotions. It relieves digestive symptoms such as irritable bowel, flatulence, poor appetite, constipation and abdominal discomfort. It is performed by filling a dam made out of dough and placed over the navel area with lukewarm medicated oil or ghee.

Kati Basti

(Lumber SpineTreatment)

A special technique aimed at providing relief to the lower back using warm medicated oils or herbal decoctions when bathing the lower back for 20 to 30 minutes. Janu Basti

(Lumber SpineTreatment)

Janu Basti is a special ayurvedic treatment which offers relief from pain of knee joints and osteo arthritis of the knee joint. The treatment also strengthens the knee joint by improving blood circulation. Warm medicated oil or herbal decoctions are used for the process.

PATRA POTALI ( Pachakizhi ) :

In Pachakizhi special fresh leaves of medicinal herbs are made in to boluses and heated. They are massaged on the patient’s body.
